Within a matter of five minutes today, I found two factual errors in writing blogs. One stated that Bob Dylan, "were he alive today, would have good advice for writers, but his interviews will have to speak for him now." Um...he is alive and well as of this writing.
The second error was spotted on a blog featuring writing spaces of famous authors. It showed what was purported to be a photograph of J.D. Salinger sitting nude on a suitcase, while typing and smoking a pipe. (The person in the photo was Jayson Loam.)
The internet is a good place to start research, but please don't end it there. Your credibility is worth a trip to the library or, at the very least, a cross reference of internet searches.
